The Cue is a small independent publication focused on research, notes, and reflective writing about skincare, beauty, body care, and the everyday things people put on their skin.
Welcome to The Cue.
The Cue is a small, independent online publication that started in 2024.
The Cue began as a way to make sense of chaos.
It grew out of a personal research archive. Markdown files. Numbers tables. Screenshots. Links saved for later. Lists of ingredients. Half-finished thoughts. Random observations written down while researching skincare ingredients, body care, and the everyday things people put on their skin. At some point, it became easier to put it all in one place than to keep it scattered across random folders.
Trying to make sense of all that can feel a bit Sisyphean. Still, we’ve come to see it as a way of turning overthinking and procrastination into something useful and more structured. In the end, that process became the basis of the project.
The Cue is run by people who like researching, testing products, and organising information into clear notes. We work solo, powered by caffeine and real curiosity, without a large editorial team behind us. The project works independently and moves at its own pace. We write about what holds our attention.
We are not dermatologists, medical professionals, or industry insiders. We read available studies, compare ingredient labels, try products, and write down what we notice.
The Cue is an independent project where we share topics that interest us, confuse us, or seem worth closer examination. Some pieces are long, with references and detail. Others are short notes about a single point that seemed interesting. We share our personal interests and questions here. Every topic gets our curiosity, care, and a healthy dose of scepticism.
Nothing published on this site is professional, medical, or legal advice, and it should not be used as a replacement for speaking to a qualified specialist who can look at your specific situation.
If something we publish ever includes gifted items or affiliate links, we’ll say so clearly. Everything else – what we cover and how – is decided independently.
The Cue is basically what happens when someone researches first, overthinks second, and only then presses publish.
If that sounds like your kind of reading – welcome.
